The Untravelled Paths breaks to the Ice Hotel in Romania will show you the hidden gems of this amazing and diverse country and most importantly will take you to our unique Ice Hotel hidden among the clouds and peaks of the Fagaras Mountains. Set at over 2000m above sea level, Romania's Ice Hotel is truly remote and can only be accessed by cable car, making it a once in a lifetime adventure. With 10 - 14 individually hand carved rooms, no two are the same and no two years are the same either. The Ice Hotel is re-made each year by local craftsmen when winter arrives and Balea Lake freezes. Using age old techniques the locals drag the frozen blocks of ice from the lake and hand carve all aspects of the intricately beautiful hotel and ice church.

Untravelled Paths will also show you the variation and contrast of this amazing country, there's so much more to see. Starting and ending in the exciting Bucharest you’ll be left to decide whether to see another site, relax in another café or simply save yourself for the city's lively night scene. Dropping a gear, you will then travel through the beautiful countryside of Transylvania, where you’ll discover the medieval town of Brasov with its fascinating past and ties to Dracula before the finale, a night in the stunning Ice Hotel. An unforgettable trip which get a TOP RECOMMENDATION from Wanderlust.
